The Museum

The Museum of The Queen's Lancashire Regiment houses one of the largest and most important Infantry Regimental collections in the country.

The Collection

The extensive displays, archive and military history library illustrate the fascinating story of the Regiment and its antecedents from foundation in 1689 to the achievements of the 'Lancashire Lads' of the 21st Century.

Disabled Access

The Museum Trustees are  committed to providing full access for all visitors.

The Grade II listed building in which the Museum is housed is over 150 years old with construction characteristics typical of its mid-Victorian origins. It has been recently modified to provide wheelchair access via a special fully-ramped entrance and a through-floor wheelchair-user-operated lift to the first floor.

All public areas are  now accessible to wheelchair users. Museum staff are always ready to help disabled visitors wishing to see specific items from the archives, which are held in an area which cannot physically be made accessible, by making them available to examine in the public areas.

A disabled-access toilet is available on the ground floor.

Ample parking for disabled vehicles is available within Fulwood Barracks.

Security

Fulwood Barracks has been an important military establishment since 1848 and remains so today. Visitors to the Museum are therefore to required to check in at the Barracks Main Gate.

Security is always important but at times there may be a need for increased vigilance. This may result in some restriction on visitors or even alterations to opening times, at short notice.

Parking

Ample parking is available in Fulwood Barracks.
